In October 2024, BetaNews covered the launch of ProtoArc's all-in-one portable work kit for people who work away from a desk.
What the kit includes
The XKM01 CaseUp bundles three pieces into one travel case: a tri-fold Bluetooth keyboard, a slim wireless mouse, and a foldable laptop stand. Folded down, the keyboard measures roughly 8.46 x 4.68 x 0.78 inches, yet keeps a full-size 105-key layout with a number pad and shortcut row. Scissor switches are designed to stay quiet and responsive, which matters in a café, a train or a shared office.
Connectivity and battery
Both the keyboard and mouse use dual-mode wireless (2.4G dongle plus Bluetooth) and can switch between Windows, macOS and Android devices. Both charge over USB-C and include auto-sleep to stretch battery life: up to 150 days of standby for the keyboard and around 200 days for the mouse. The mouse also offers adjustable DPI, so you can trade speed for precision without software.
Why it matters for travel
The stand is the piece most travel kits leave out. Elevating the laptop brings the screen closer to eye level, which reduces the forward head posture that shows up on long trips. Paired with a keyboard at a comfortable distance, it turns any table into a usable workstation for an hour or two — the realistic window for most mobile work.
