Video summary
This Japanese-language review tests the EM01 by playing Getting Over It, a game controlled entirely by pointer precision, as a way to measure how accurately a trackball can place a cursor. Before playing, the reviewer sets the mouse beside a Logitech MX Ergo and an M575 and compares the three directly.
His observations: the EM01 borrows the MX Ergo shape but adds a sculpted palm rest with deeper steps that stop the hand slipping; it uses a thick, wide wheel instead of a tilt wheel, which cuts the button count to five; the tilt mechanism matches the Logitech at about 20 degrees; and the light ring changes colour and dims when the mouse is idle. Connections are one 2.4G channel plus two Bluetooth channels, and the active channel number stays lit, which he prefers to trackballs that only blink when switching.
DPI is fixed at 1000, 1600 and 2400 rather than Logitech's speed-sensitive scaling, the battery is a 900mAh USB-C cell, and the price is roughly half the MX Ergo in Japan. His reservation is battery life, which he could not measure in the time he had.
