FAQ - EM25
About Connection & Troubleshooting
If your mouse fails to connect via the USB receiver or the connection is unstable, follow these steps to manually rebuild the connection:
- Plug your USB receiver into your computer's USB port.
- Open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge and visit the web driver page: www.hub.protoarc.com.
- Go to Settings, and select Pair New Receiver.
- A pop-up window will appear. Follow the step-by-step on-screen instructions to finish the re-pairing process.
If you cannot connect via Bluetooth or need to bind the mouse to a new device, clear the pairing history using this method:
- Power Off: Slide the power switch on the bottom of the mouse to OFF.
- Execute Reset: Press and hold down the Scroll Wheel (Middle Click) while sliding the power switch back to ON.
- Wait for Signal: Watch the Bluetooth channel indicator. Once it begins flashing rapidly, you can release the scroll wheel.
- Reconnect: The mouse is now discoverable. Open your device's Bluetooth settings, scan for the mouse, and select it to connect.
About Charging & Power Management
- Low Battery Warning: When power is running low, a red low-battery indicator light will flash continuously to alert you.
- How to Charge: Plug the included Type-C cable into the mouse and connect the USB-A end to your computer.
- Charging Status: The indicator light will stay solid red while charging.
- Fully Charged: A full charge takes about 1 to 3.5 hours. Once complete, the indicator light will turn green.
Support Tip: To ensure optimal charging efficiency and device safety, we strongly recommend using the original charging cable included in the box.
Scrolling Modes & Sensitivity (DPI)
Yes. The EM25 features a dual-mode scroll wheel engineered for different workflows:
- Standard Tactile Mode: Provides a distinct, clicky gear sensation. Ideal for precise document reading, coding, or detailed design work.
- Hyper-Fast Scrolling Mode: Allows the wheel to spin freely with a single flick. Perfect for flying through long web pages or massive spreadsheets.
If the cursor moves too fast or too slow, click the DPI button to cycle through the sensitivity levels. The indicator light color changes according to the selected DPI:
- 1000 DPI: Red (Basic Office Work)
- 1600 DPI: Blue
- 2400 DPI: Green
- 3600 DPI: Yellow
- 4800 DPI: Light Blue
- 6200 DPI: Orange
- 8000 DPI: Purple (High-Precision Tracking)
Web Driver & Customization
Yes, button mapping and settings can be fully personalized via our web driver. Please verify that your setup meets the following configuration requirements:
- System Compatibility: Supports Windows 8.11, macOS 10.12, and above.
- Connection Limit (Important): Driver configuration is only supported via 2.4G USB receiver mode. The software cannot recognize the mouse if it is connected via Bluetooth.
- Browser Requirements: For the smoothest online configuration experience, use the latest version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Opera.
- Product Line: This web driver is only compatible with specific ProtoArc models. Please check your product manual to ensure compatibility.
Due to macOS system security policies, you must manually grant "Input Monitoring" permissions to your web browser before it can communicate with the hardware:
- Open your Mac's System Settings.
- Navigate to Privacy & Security.
- Locate and click on Input Monitoring from the list.
- Toggle on the switch next to your active browser, such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
- Restart your browser and try connecting your mouse again.
Tip: If your browser is missing from the list, click the "+" icon at the bottom to add it manually. Without this permission enabled, the browser will be unable to read or write custom commands to the mouse.
About Accessories & Replacements
Because the EM25 features specialized custom firmware, it is currently incompatible with the standard USB receivers sold separately on our store. However, please don't worry. We are working hard on production and plan to launch a fully compatible replacement receiver soon.
