Forbes contributor Mark Sparrow wrote about the ProtoArc XKM01 combo kit as a way to carry a full working setup in a small bag, rather than compromise on a laptop keyboard and trackpad.
What the kit solves
A laptop is a computer, not a workstation. Once you add a real keyboard and a mouse at a comfortable distance, the screen sits farther away and your shoulders relax. The XKM01 approach is to make that setup fold flat: a tri-fold 105-key keyboard, a compact mouse that stores its USB receiver, and a case that keeps both together so nothing gets left behind in a hotel room.
Three devices, one keyboard
The keyboard pairs over one 2.4G dongle and two Bluetooth channels, which covers a typical travel load — laptop, phone, tablet — with a dedicated key for each. Both devices charge over USB-C, the same cable as most laptops, so one charger covers the kit.
Who it fits
If you work from a coffee shop, a client site or a hotel desk for a few hours a day, a folding kit removes the biggest friction: setting up and packing down. If your work is eight hours of continuous typing, comfort should come first and a full-size split keyboard is the better base.
